Winter may be over in the Northern Hemisphere, but it’s just beginning south of equator. Why not continue winter in style, with a drop of heli-skiing in the Andes Mountains in Chile. Book through Ski Portillo.
Not strictly a recommendation (and we can’t claim to have visited), but North Korea is due to open its first ski resort, Masik, this December. Boasted to have 110km of piste, 2 hotels and a heliport, getting a visa may be the only problem for a holiday there.
If every little really does help, we won’t say no to £10 off flights with Swiss. That’s at least, ohh, a plate of high-altitude chips or a grande biere. But hey, it’s 1000 shiny pennies more than any other airline. Book any Swiss (LX) flight before 24th November 2013, for any travel between now and 30th September 2014. At “voucher redemption” click “see choices” and “add” code SKISWISSUK to get your discount. Ta da!
Think you’ll be lucky enough to ski Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Canyons, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood, Afton Alps, Mt. Brighton, Arapahoe Basin, Eldora, Verbier, Arlberg and Les 3 Vallées in a season? Then the Epic lift pass is for you. With unlimited skiing in the American ski resorts and 5 free days for Europe, it’s a bargain $729 for an adult pass.
We don’t have a crystal ball to predict when snow levels will be good, but at least British Airways new semi-flex airfares mean we can change our flights if we need to. There are also new hand baggage only fares if you’re lucky enough to keep your ski gear in the Alps and can go at the drop of a beanie.
